Location:_____________________ Name(s) of incumbent:________________________ Reports to (Name):____________________ Title: President Job Summary: The National Accounts Sales position is responsible for evaluating account needs, helping to develop sales strategies and understanding the service aspects of account requirements. This position requires the ability to provide support during and after the selling process. This individual must be experienced in analyzing customer requirements and ensuring that company services will accomplish the customer's objectives. The successful candidate will be capable of setting personal goals to achieve results and communicating effectively with all levels of management. Must be a self-starter who is reliable and able to execute special assignments and tasks, and have the experience to work independently and prioritize work to meet deadlines. The National Accounts Sales Person must be detail orientated, have excellent follow-through abilities, plus be professional and respect confidentiality and privacy. This individual will be encouraged and motivated to service accounts and generate new business and to make decisions that are in the best interest of providing our customers with quality service and Technical Transportation with the best return of profit dollars and business volume. Qualifications and Requirements: 5+ years demonstrated experience in a transportation/logistics sales support role involving “High Value Equipment”. Provide technical sales support to Sales Representatives or Agents in selling standard, complex and customized transportation and logistics solutions to customers and prospects to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions. Assist in all phases of the selling process. Analyze transportation/logistics functions of customer's business. Identify customer needs and sales opportunities to the customer in order to maximize and grow sales. Take lead role in the preparation of RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs. Assist Sales, IS (Information Systems), and Operations team in ensuring customer satisfaction. Apply technical, sales support knowledge and policies in direct support to customers and prospects. Requires frequent travel to customer premises. Technical Transportation Inc. supports a wide variety of hardware and software platforms and the company is heavily involved in Web-based applications utilizing company intranets and through the Internet. Required Skills Technical: Strong software experience including proficiency with Microsoft products: Windows (98, 2000, XP), Word, Excel, Goldmine, and Internet and E-mail. Broad and proficient in the design and development of transportation and logistics applications and technologies Knowledge routing, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) systems, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is also a plus. Sales Support and Customer Relations: Demonstrated success performing throughout the selling process. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences. Strong listening, fact-finding, and analysis skills and the ability to respond professionally, with sensitivity and a sense of urgency to customer needs and/or requests. Strong team skills and the ability to work as part of a team to solve complex transportation/logistics problems and support accounts with complex political environments. Demonstrated experience working for or supporting large companies. Knowledge and application of quality programs and impact of resolving service failures by implementing closed gap corrective action in concert with the operations staff and customer. Project Planning: Expertise in documenting requirements and scope of work and translating requirements into executable plans. Provide detailed customer launch management support with periodic scheduled customer reviews. Duties and Responsibilities Pre-Sales Support: ·Develop and deliver high quality product presentations and demonstrations. · Assist in the information gathering and evaluation of customer/prospect systems and problems. · Assist in providing necessary technical information for sales proposals/solutions. · Attend scheduled sales appointments and/or conference calls to reinforce sales presentations by providing technical answers and details. Implementation Support: · Document customer requirements and scope of work. · Work with Sales Support to schedule implementations and upgrades for service delivery with Customer Service. · Work with Customer Manager or higher delegate to provide special service requirement information. · Establish and retain all pertinent communications channels throughout the implementation: communicating with customers, ensuring correct offering of services, coordinating with operation staff, including Customer Launch Development as necessary, apprising Operations, IS, and Accounting of special details surrounding a solution. · Alert the responsible Operations Manager of any pending or prospective sales problems. Company Advocate · Monitor the customer's application of the company's transportation/logistics services and report their success in applying them to their needs. · Suggest service enhancements that would increase the value of the customer's use of the services. · Assess the impact of known deficiencies on the customer's processes. · Alert Operations to opportunities to expand our business with the customer including, for example, plans to install new applications and/or additional support facilities. · Alert Operations, IS, and Accounting teams to pending and/or prospective problems and/or opportunities. · Report customer complaints or dissatisfaction with our services and suggest action to resolve and monitor the company's timeliness and effectiveness in responding to them through our Quality System ESP (Excellent Service Provided). |
